A little flour, a whole lot of feelings, and a life I’m still figuring out—one honest story at a time.

My Story

Hi, Friend—Welcome to Flour, Feelings & Figuring It Out

Come on in, grab a cup of coffee, and make yourself comfortable. I have a feeling we’re going to become good friends.

I’m Chantelle—a 46-year-old single mama raising six incredible kiddos. My life is loud, busy, beautiful, messy, and almost never goes according to plan. I’m still figuring out who I am underneath the endless responsibilities, the piles of laundry, the grocery lists, and all the different roles I carry every day.

A few years ago, I lost both of my parents within two months of each other. The grief swallowed me whole. I felt completely lost, and I wasn’t sure how to find my way back to myself.

That’s when baking became more than something I loved. It became my lifeline.

I opened my bakery while trying to survive one of the most painful seasons of my life. Somewhere between the flour-covered counters, early mornings, and batches of cupcakes, I slowly began putting pieces of myself back together. Baking gave me a reason to get up, create something beautiful, and keep moving forward—even on the days when my heart felt impossibly heavy.

But this blog is about so much more than baking.

It’s about motherhood, grief, healing, faith, starting over, chasing dreams, and discovering who you are when life doesn’t turn out the way you imagined. It’s about the good days, the hard days, and those strange in-between days when you laugh, cry, burn supper, and wonder what on earth you’re doing with your life.

I’m going to share it all—honestly and without pretending to have everything figured out. There will be stories from my life, lessons I’ve learned the hard way, recipes from my kitchen, behind-the-scenes moments from the bakery, and probably a little chaos along the way.

I don’t have all the answers, but maybe that’s the point. Maybe we aren’t supposed to have everything figured out before we begin. Maybe we’re meant to learn, heal, grow, and occasionally make a beautiful mess along the way.

So, if you’ve ever felt lost, overwhelmed, out of place, or like you’re rebuilding yourself one tiny piece at a time, you belong here.

Welcome to Flour, Feelings & Figuring It Out. I’m so glad you found your way here. I hope you’ll pull up a chair and follow along—because something tells me this next chapter is going to be worth sharing.

The Rewired Life

For years, I felt as though I were running in circles—repeating the same patterns, relying on the same learned behaviours, and wondering why nothing in my life ever seemed to change. I was exhausted, deeply depressed, and reaching a point where I felt like giving up.

But I have always loved learning, so I decided to study Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. As I trained, I began applying what I was learning to my own life. Slowly, I started recognizing the thoughts, beliefs, and behaviours that had been keeping me trapped. I learned how to interrupt old patterns, make healthier choices, and begin rebuilding my life from the inside out.

The experience didn’t simply change the way I thought—it changed me and the direction of my life.

I wrote this book for anyone who feels stuck in the same painful cycles and is ready to discover that change really is possible. Through honest reflection, practical CBT-based tools, and lessons from my own journey, I hope to help you better understand yourself, challenge the patterns holding you back, and take meaningful steps toward the life you deserve.

This special two-in-one edition includes both the complete book and its companion workbook, giving you the insight to understand your patterns and the practical exercises to begin changing them.

Your past may explain how you arrived here, but it does not have to decide where you go next.
